is an artist!

Need to scan in a portion of her prolific creations.  There's always a theme of the moment.  Right now you can walk through the house and find colorful parrots that she's drawn or colored-in taped up in places where she thinks you'll notice and appreciate them.  Last week it was little skateboarding people with whirlybird hats.  Before that, cats...cats circle around quite a bit.  She really loves to draw, and I think her drawings as a 4 year old are more like the boys' at 7 years old :}

Soccer!

Eden is in her first soccer season as a player, and she's hot stuff!  Having watched 2 brothers play for a while, she actually knows at 4 to kick the ball toward the goal (which a lot of the kids have yet to learn).  7 goals in the first game, and at least 3 in each game after.  Who's kid is this??

Proud

This year, any boy who could complete the first 28 books of the Magic Treehouse series received a $50 or under lego set.  Wow, I've never seen reluctant readers turn a 180 so quickly :}  They were very proud of themselves, and their reading skills really improved this year.  Not to mention, since the series is based on notable historic events or places, when I try to teach them about something from history I am now constantly being told, "I already know that from #31, Mom."  Or the like.  :)

Poetry club with Mrs. G!  Two of our members were sick this day, so this is a small group.

After Easter church service:

Seder-esque meal on Maundy Thursday contemplating the Last Supper and Jesus as the passover lamb.  We did this once a couple of years ago and now the kids really look forward to it. Each child gets one of the three questions, and then we hide dessert for the afikomen instead of matzoh :}
