Spudnuts, by kids
Well, I felt the need to up the fun level and do some more hands-on things that really get the kiddos excited to join in this week. So, I offered that we would do cooking lessons. Great idea, right?! We drew from a hat and Eden got the first turn to pick what we would make. With great excitement, she announced, "Doughnuts!!!" Not exactly spaghetti :} But, more pain, more gain, so we dove in. A flour explosion that seemed to cover the first floor of the house, a cup of scalded milk on the floor, and 6 hands (soon 8 hands) completely entombed in very low flour:liquid dough later, and we were frying some doughnuts. We made 'spudnuts' at my FIL's recommendation, and they were pretty good! And as intended, the kids had very, very much fun. (Asher was in make-a-warrior-face-for-the-camera-mode despite my admonitions to smile.) Owen said, "We should take these to Dunkin' Donuts and tell them we can make better ones!"

Lydia!
Major treat=spending an entire week with my new niece and her loving parents in England while my mom cared for my littles at home. Oh, I am missing that little tater tot already! She is a sweetie, and so tiny and perfect. My sister and brother-in-law are pro parents already and Lydia is one lucky girl to have them. I'm home, and tired, but not as tired as they are...ah, nice to be the auntie this time around ;)

How-to video
I am not at all sure where Eden got it in her head that she would really, really like to make a how-to video. But despite being put off a few times, the idea did not die. So today we went for it! E. is often pretty inhibited about pictures and well, public things in general, so it is very interesting for me how excited she was about this. But you never do know! Might have to turn the volume way up (I did subtitle!). I think she did pretty well :)
