These are so old now, from before summer!  But haven't scanned her more recent works :)

I love you more than...

Setting: Bedtime

Eden: "Mom, I have a secret for you.  Lean down your ear.  [whisper] I love you more than candy."
Me:  "Oh Eden, I love you that much too.  I love you more than ice cream AND chocolate."
Eden:  "But you don't eat much of those...Mom, do you love me more than coffee???"
Me:  "Oh, YES.  EVEN more than coffee.  Goodnight, cutie-patootie"
Eden:  "Goodnight Mommy Patotty.  [pause]  Did you hear that, I copied your rhyming back on you!"

Owen is becoming more aware that he may end up being on the smaller side...his friends are all a head taller already.  I told him that short people live longer and that is somewhat satisfying for him :)  However, he is always watching his weight and wanting it to go up, up, up!  (What a wish! The elders in the house stand on the scale watching for down, down, down...).  A couple nights ago as Eden is hopping into the bath, Owen is over in the corner on the scale and I see him first-pump into the air and shout, "YES!!  Weight high score!!!"

Life moves too fast now!

I just can't manage to get things up here anymore.  Too much happening every day!  But I thought of the blog when Asher said this one today after I said something slightly scolding/chiding.  Probably about his habit of putting his foot on me during dinner (We are table neighbors, and I do not wish that on anyone...we're still working on upping the relative percentage of time during the meal that his tuchas is in contact with the actual seat.  Not that he gets up and runs around, but he manages to wiggle incessantly.  But that's another thing.).  In any case, he says to me, "Maybe you would like to be defenestrated!"  This is called a sassy reply in big words.  But it did make me laugh in shock at that vocabulary (Asher is very artful at being the funny man sometimes)!  This comes from a Latin for children curriculum that we've dabbled in, and I had no idea he'd retained that one, wow.  Definitely not on the 6 year old vocab. list!

Need to scan in a portion of her prolific creations.  There's always a theme of the moment.  Right now you can walk through the house and find colorful parrots that she's drawn or colored-in taped up in places where she thinks you'll notice and appreciate them.  Last week it was little skateboarding people with whirlybird hats.  Before that, cats...cats circle around quite a bit.  She really loves to draw, and I think her drawings as a 4 year old are more like the boys' at 7 years old :}
