Owen and I hung out at the mall this morning. He was only a fan of the play area for about 3 minutes, and then I was not quick enough and he pulled out a handful of hair from a ~9 month old. :O So we left and walked around other places.
Accomplishments of recent days...
Learning to gag himself by sticking his fingers down his throat. This is not an accomplishment that mom is fond of, but Owen thinks he is quite cool. I am currently going with ignore-the-behavior on this one, because I think giving it attention will make it all the more fun to do at this point.
Pop mini snickers bar into mouth and chew, chew, chew for so long that mom forgets he was working on it. About 10 minutes later, come over to mom, open mouth and spit out pile of perfectly sucked-clean pile of peanut chunks.
Love affair with the out of doors continues and grows. We bought snow pants this morning (I was told they sell out fast) because Owen and I are NOT going to survive indoors from November to May.
Made it through the church service in the nursery on Sunday! Woohoo!
Loves the massage chair at Brookstone at the mall, with all of the buttons on the controller. There are two side by side so we have free mommy/son massages and get lots of laughs from the passers-by. It's a tough life.
Mimics a whole lot of words, but they are still pretty indistinct. It's so funny when he hears a word that's a bit long and overwhelming. Like umbrella, or abracadabra. He'll make the first sound, and then intentionally make up a bunch of jibberish syllables just to make it so that he's saying a long word. Umbrella might be 'ublahbamama' or 'umemebabo' you never know.

I don't know that you ever sucked a snickers dry to peanuts, but it does somehow seem akin to grape-peeling. I can't wait until i'm at a cookout with Owen one day and see an ear of corn on the cob, with each kernel perfectly removed one or two at a time ;)
see it's not just a recent thing, i was disturbed from day one...why did i peel grapes??
