Owen, 5 yrs.

BP 90/50
Height 42.5" 38%ile
Weight 41 lb 50%ile
BMI 16

2 shots, no tears!  However, much angst about having to take off clothes and put on an exam gown.  Can you blame him?  The doctor thinks he is dreadfully shy.  Coming from a mother who did not appreciate anyone in her personal space or anyone who felt threatening, namely medical professionals, at that age, I feel for him.  Sometimes doctors just aren't smart about psychology...and sometimes they are!  But I suppose they're doing they're best and can't understand each child's needs, as they're all so different.  And maybe there's just nothing a doctor can do in some instances to befriend a fearful soul :}

Hmmm... our pediatrician's office doesn't use exam gowns. Maybe for that reason? I do think they make you feel vulnerable. But I can't remember *exactly* what the protocol is. I kind of remember one or both of the girls going through this and our pediatrician thought it was no big deal and the exam somehow happened with a minimal amount of fuss; just par for the course for some kids. But I think our pediatrician is old enough that he has seen everything at this point. :)

Well, at least it was a good check-up!
